This is the topic which I am very curious to write about. In fact, I have learnt so many new things which I haven't explored before.
On a brief note, I'd like to say that it's not a piece of cake to achieve the right thought process. It requires constant PRACTICE. After all, Mastery is impossible to achieve without constant PRACTICE!
Before going further, I'd recommend you to read this post which describes the power of thoughts. Here is the link to the post if you haven't read it yet-

Let me drive you into this topic with a suitable example.
If we want to maintain a healthy and fit body, what will we do?
We will look upon the quality and quantity of food that we are consuming, right?
Similarly, what if we want to maintain a healthy and fit mind?
We need to look upon the quality and quantity of inputs that we are feeding into our mind.
Some inputs like what we are watching, what we are listening, with whom we are hanging out with etc.
Trust me, it seems like a myth when someone says this to you. Even I am the one who didn't agree to this fact that these inputs literally affect our thought process. But eventually, I came to discover it myself that this is 100% true.
These inputs which you are consuming involuntarily every day are very important because ultimately your thought process is going to be affected by the inputs that you gave into your mind.
You cannot expect your mind to be healthy and fit by feeding it with wrong inputs as we don't expect our body to be fit by consuming junk food.
That is why many spiritual leaders say that conscious consumption is very crucial. We need to be extremely conscious of what we are feeding into our mind.
There is a concept of FIFO(First In, First out) in the subject of operating systems. Similarly, there is a concept of GIGO in the subject of right thought process which means 'GOOD IN, GOOD OUT' or 'GARBAGE IN, GARBAGE OUT'.
It clearly means that every cause has its effect at one point in time.
Every action you are doing now is, in turn, feeding your mind which could result in a tremendous effect in your thought process either in a good way or wrong way depending upon the inputs which you are feeding.
To conclude, I would recommend everyone to be conscious of not only what you are doing but also what you are feeding into your mind.
